THE RIGHT NOW TEAMS UP WITH 56 HOPE ROAD FOR HOMETOWN SHOW CELEBRATING MOMENTOUS MILESTONES

CHARITY-DRIVEN JOINT-ANNIVERSARY SHOW TO BE HOSTED AT MARTYRS’ ON FRIDAY, APRIL 27TH

Chicago-native pop/soul powerhouse The Right Now has announced their 10th anniversary show at Martyrs’ on Friday, April 27th. The critically acclaimed group will team up with Chicago’s finest: Vocalo 91.1 FM, 5 Rabbit Cervecería, October, and co-headliner 56 Hope Road, who are ringing in their 20th year as a band. The dual anniversary show will also help raise funds for Hope For The Day, a suicide prevention charity that provides outreach and education through self-expression platforms.

After nearly 500 shows from coast-to-coast, The Right Now has been picking up fans with each tour stop and gaining rave reviews for each of their albums. NPR’s Sound Opinions recently praised front-woman Stefanie Berecz as “much stronger on their forthcoming album Starlight than Adele was on her last two records.” The Right Now’s music also broke through to mainstream culture, compiling numerous placements in television and national commercials, as well as the blockbuster video game Watch Dogs. Along the way, the band has shared the stage with Fitz & The Tantrums, George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Rebirth Brass Band, and many more.

TRN barnstormed through 2017 with sold-out shows in Chicago, tours throughout the Midwest, the South, and the East Coast, accolades from the press, and a Daytrotter session. However, tragedy struck when Stefanie’s husband took his own life less than a week after their sold-out Chicago release-show in April. Despite her intense grief, Stefanie dedicated herself to advocacy for mental health. Stefanie states, “Speaking out and becoming an activist for mental health awareness and suicide prevention not only fostered healing within the walls of my own home, but it opened up the door to something much bigger. The opportunity to connect with our fans through our music and our message has been so unbelievably powerful.” The band partnered with Hope For The Day and raised over $2000 for the charity in 2017 alone.

Longevity in the music industry requires commitment and determination, and The Right Now has demonstrated both over the past 10 years. The band brings this same can-do attitude to their anniversary celebration by partnering with local organizations to create a truly memorable experience. With beer tastings from 5 Rabbit Cervecería (presented by the beer review website October) at the beginning of the evening followed by set-list rarities from both bands, a finely curated night of entertainment is set to grace the Windy City this April. As band anchor Brendan O’Connell declares, “We’re throwing a party to celebrate 10 years as a family. We’ve gathered some of our favorite Chicago institutions to make this an event to remember.”
